Q8. Strangest run you’ve ever been on?
Christ. I’ve been on a lot. Probably one of the MNRs back at Uni. A bunch of us running down the canal in flappies and night out shirts. We went on a couple of fancy dress 10 milers, actually.

Qualifying for English Schools 1500mSC as a yoof.

No. Got a few assists, mind.
Q11. How do you deal with nerves pre race?
I don’t. If they come, as soon as the gun goes they go.

Listen to your body – It speaks even more than I do.

Get fit to get fast.

Cycling – I like moving fast.

I’ll never forget reading the quote by Herb Elliot, “The key to success is not talent, nor hard work, and not fortune. It is one’s desire for double cheeseburgers”. I’ve lived by that ever since.

It’s not easy. But Ron – The glue of LTC.

Bowser – I’ve heard he’s messier than I am.
